For 150 years the Sisters of St. Joseph have served faithfully in the mission fields of Florida. Their Mission is "that all may be one" John 17:21 and they fulfill this by going into communities, finding what needs to be done - and doing it...this was the mission that launched their order in 1650 in LePuy, France...transcended in 1866 when they came to serve the poor of Florida and continues today... through education of poor children, counseling the metally ill and women in crisis pregnancies and families destroyed by divorce; nourishing the hungry...bringing Eucharist to the sick...the list of missions goes on and is present from Miami to Jacksonville... and in Gainesville, Tallahassee and Orlando. The Sisters are working...and it will be the Providence of God and the generosity of folks like you and me that will help this work to continue - for the honor and glory of God and for the wellbeing of our good neighbors!
My message to the Sisters: “Dearest Sisters, you have the answers to many of the questions asked by many people along the highway of life. It is my plan that each and every one on that road shall get to know each and every one of you, thereby fulfilling the call to holiness of the Second Vatican Council and making people aware of who you are and of all the amazing things you have done. Their gifts of time, talent and treasure can then be harnessed to ensure your quality of life and your vision for the future of a convent filled beyond your wildest imaginings." My greatest honor is to serve God and to join in the Mission of the Sisters of St. Jospeh.
